Beireia

Beireia was the first regular female character in Irritability. Originally, she had a very serious temper, now she's worn herself out, and learned to ignore the slings and arrows of outrageous Chappy, and usually only lashes out out of necessity. Women in comics tend to be a bit idealized in their design, and Beireia exemplifies this. That long ponytail would be really impractical in real life, especially for someone who's going to be crawling around in caves and such. Also, her proportions are a bit unrealistic, but that's kind of par for the course, as I mentioned earlier. She dresses fairly modestly, nothing low-cut, long pants pretty much always. Come to think of it, hardly anyone ever wears shorts. I guess that's because I dislike shorts myself. I had an outfit I usually drew her in, but that's fallen by the wayside.
Beiriea's style has probably evolved more than any of the other characters. The haircut is basically the same, but it's drawn very differently now. She used to have under-eyelashes, but as the art in Irritability got more realistic, they had to go. However, in the fancy portrait I drew, the triangle of under-lashes returns, so I may bring them back if my casual style ever approaches that level. She's supposed to be pretty athletic, so I made her arms thicker than... than I'd have drawn them naturally, I guess. There's not many female arms to compare to. Oh, and you might not be able to notice it, but her stomach isn't very flat. I couldn't really tell you why I draw her that way, except that she doesn't go out of her way to maintain her appearance, and from what I've observed, it's pretty much impossible for girls to keep fat off if they don't work really hard at it.
